Summer Job: Gallery Assistant

Applicant must be between 15 and 29 years of age and have been a registered student during 2018. Application deadline: June 1, 2018

The gallery assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gallery which include meeting and greeting customers, engaging in discussion of the various art forms supported, handling sales transactions, and maintaining the gallery space in a professional manner.

Since part of PMAC's mandate is managing groups of tourists and handling events in our performing arts space, the student will be responsible for all hospitality functions.

The assistant will be familiar with the cultural and historical nature of the venue, a more than a century old gristmill and be able to communicate this story from its founding to its current use.

The assistant is required to further develop our internal IT systems, website, on-line sales system and accounting systems. Priority will be given to applicants that are able to communicate verbally in both official languages.

This position, starting in July, is funded for an 8 week period of 30 hrs/week with the possibility of extension.
